All good points, but it seems the general consensus for against the pairing is that they were raised as brother and sister...and that would just be kinda ooky. If I were to find out my brother really wasn't related by blood to me...well, my feelings just wouldn't change.
However, what LK does with the characters is her choice and I'd still buy and read whatever she did with them.
However, I'm on the fence about this issue.
